Helpline Project Director
Help us drive awareness of the FORCE helpline and increase the hours we are able to provide this much needed support. We need an organized volunteer with a business or marketing background to help us create a plan to drive awareness, increase call volume and number of volunteers, along with maintaining a volunteer schedule. Please contact Barbara Pfeiffer for more information.
Helpline volunteers
If you have 4-6 hours per month and are willing to speak with other women and provide support and information on hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, please consider signing up as a Helpline Volunteer. Please note:
- Helpline training is provided.
- Calls will be forwarded to your home or cell and your number is not disclosed to the caller.
- You will need to commit to a specific two hour shift every other week (e.g., Every other Wednesday - 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.). Slots are available at all times.
- We are also looking for Spanish speakers and men who would be interested in volunteering to do occasional call backs as needed.
A helpline volunteer’s role is to listen, find resources to support the calls and tell their own story (if appropriate.) The ideal volunteer is comfortable with their decisions, generally not facing surgery or treatment, and are comfortable in providing all options to callers. Please contact Barbara Pfeiffer for more information.
Virtual Outreach Coordinator
We are looking for a small group of volunteers who are available to participate in message board conversations (providing guidance and pointing to appropriate resources); Facebook and other on-line communities. Please contact Barbara Pfeiffer for more information.
Run/Walk Coordinator
If you have experience setting up and executing run/walks, and are available to help us develop a plan for a future event, please contact Barbara Pfeiffer.
Have special skills or interested in other opportunities not listed here? Able to provide an hour or two in your area to represent FORCE at local events? Enter your email address and click the "Go" button and we'll put you on our list for future projects.
