FORCE accepts sponsorships and donations from individuals, corporations and institutions. All corporate and institutional sponsors are acknowledged on our website; individual donors who have contributed $1000 or over may request acknowledgement on our website unless they prefer to remain anonymous. FORCE accepts in-kind donations of products and services.
FORCE also partners with companies who develop specific awareness-raising products, or who donate a portion of their proceeds on items or product lines to our organization.
Since our inception, FORCE has provided free support services to those affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Our policy for the first four years of our organization's existence was to decline funding from biomedical, health technology, and pharmaceutical companies. In order to continue our mission and expand our services to the high-risk community, in 2003 the Board of Directors of FORCE voted to change our policy and accept limited contributions from the health care industry sector. We have and will continue to advance our mission in the same balanced, unbiased way. All corporate donations to FORCE are considered unrestricted educational grants; our corporate donors have no editorial input into FORCE program content. As FORCE grows we will continue to examine our sponsor policy to assure that our organization, and our materials are free from influence from commercial organizations, and remain credible and balanced.
We still need to rely on the involvement, volunteerism, and financial support from the high-risk community as we grow into an organization that can better accomplish our mission and represent the concerns, interests, and needs of this community.
