How to Help

Establish a Fund

A FORCE Named Fund provides donors with the opportunity to make gifts that will have a lasting impact while recognizing your family, or honoring or memorializing a loved one. Groups or businesses can establish a Named Fund which publicizes your commitment to families at risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.namefunds

Are recognized on our website and in our annual report

Have a dedicated page and donation process to allow gifts to be given directly to the fund.

May be directed to a certain area or program such as scholarships, education, research or advocacy.

Current Named Funds

The Brenda L. Caplan Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Brenda L. Caplan Memorial Scholarship Fund was endowed by Brenda’s husband, Myron, in conjunction with the Butterfly Project created by Brenda’s granddaughter, Molly.

The Downey Sisters Fund

The Downey Sisters' Fund for BRCA Mutation Awareness and Education has been established by Phebe and Frederick Downey, to honor their daughters Ann Downey Little, Margaret Downey Hardy, Katherine Downey Berges, and Martha Downey Lemp. Donations to this fund are tax-deductible and will be used to educate the public and the medical community about the genetic risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

The Linda Pedraza Scholarship Fund


The Linda Pedraza Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Linda Pedraza, a member of the FORCE Board of Directors and a staunch patient advocate for people with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Donations to the fund are tax-deductible and will go to provide financial support to people who cannot afford to attend our national conference.

The Jan Finer Memorial Fund

The Jan Finer Memorial Fund was established in memory of Jan Finer, a volunteer coordinator for our Tampa Bay Outreach Network. Jan believed that information about cancer genetics can be empowering and life-saving and she worked tirelessly to raise awareness about hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Donations to the fund are tax-deductible will go towards providing lifesaving education and outreach focused on hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.
