Volunteer for our Help-line FORCE operates a toll-free helpline from Monday through Friday. The helpline offers confidential peer support for people concerned about hereditary cancer. Volunteers discuss issues with callers, offer referrals to resources, or match callers with other peer counselors with similar experiences. Volunteers do not offer medical advice, rather they share their experiences with hereditary cancer and risk and offer resources and nonjudgmental support.
The helpline is a peer-to-peer opportunity and requires a pre-screening and training for volunteers.
All Helpline Volunteers will receive a two-hour online and phone training prior to their first shift. Helpline Volunteers commit to at least one two-hour shift every other week.
